My Coupe was converted to rear discs. I noticed there is no proportioning valve. Was thinking of using an adjustable one I have. Anyone running one of these and do you find it superior to the factory one?

Tia.

Well, Bob, the real question is: do you need the proportioning valve? What is you car's behavior under hard braking - to the fronts or rears (only) lock up?

In my limited seat time, the brakes seemed quite good, but I never hammered on them. My Coupe is currently off the road and will be for some time. The whole brake system is getting renewed, so I am just weighing my options for when I get around to re plumbing it.

If you need a factory one Murray has one for $30

Yes, seeing that prompted me to start the thread. I do have a couple of adjustable ones in my parts bin.

I went through this upgrade as well on my 2800CS. Without the valve, I could lock up the rears first under heavy braking. Adding the valve lets you adjust the bias. The stock one is adjustable also but some of the aftermarket adjustable ones have a handy know to turn.

Did you also change out the M/C?

I am going to rebuild the brakes end to end, so I guess i will go with the valve I have.

Thanks.
