Hey guys, I don't know the E36 well but my sister has a 300,000 mile 325is automatic from 1992 that needs a new 6 pin mass air flow sensor. I've recommended to her that the mechanic first try to clean it out but, should that not work, what are the recommendations on a replacement part? BMW is asking $2K for a new part that is part # 136275275818 which sounds outrageous. Are there good new or used sources you'd recommend she consider? Should this be OEM or are certain aftermarket brands good? Thanks so much!

I replaced it recently on my E36 318i and it was new about 400 dollars. The first one was bad and the second one worked great.
