Air cleaner housing on Ebay

This illustrates an odd thing about ebay: parts are often listed for ridiculous prices, yet when I try to sell a part (always for an auction with a low starting price) I get no interest. In other words, it is hard to buy and hard to sell. It wasn't always this way.
 
on a similar vane, I am looking for a BMW 2002 Tii front part of the three piece airfilter, europe or USA as I have a mate in CA who comes over to the UK often, Pat
 
What someone lists a part for doesn't automatically make all other identical parts worth as much, I see it a lot with people adding scene tax on almost everything nowadays. Especially if it has an M or RS badge on it.

"yes sir, I know it's a light from a normal Ford Sierra 1.6, but as it was also used on the RS500 AND RS200, it is therefore worth eleventy billion pounds.
