Air con' console

I have a retro fitted air con' system which retains the original upper blower console - the one that is above the wood tray. The wood tray has been deleted and the upper console has to join to a new lower air con' console. I can't see how these two join together. There are holes in the upholstered side panels however these don't match the holes to mount the lower console.
Has someone done this mod' and can they please tell me how? Thanks.

I definitely think you will need pics. Is the lower console the factory plate or is it aftermarket. The factory AC console sides have a different profile than non-AC console. This gives you a bit more room for the bits.
