air conditioning question

My car is a 1972 csi with no factory air. I would like to have A/C installed and plan to do so during restoration. I talked to the resto shop this weekend. They seemed to think this would be a very labor intensive job (meaning alot of money). Has anybody installed air in a coupe with no factory set up? What am I looking at in terms of labor hours, etc.?

Your shop is probably thinking about how difficult it would be to add the ducting that is in a normal AC. Show him pictures of the installation and from the parts/service manuals. He may decide that it is not such a difficult job.
