I had a new one for the 2800, couldn’t get it to stretch and stay in place even when gluing a little at a time. I kept the old broken one instead.

Hi Marcos
thanks for the help...when it comes available i might have to order 2 to make one work...or try to source a generic seal

No not strip caulking, it is not the right stuff to use. All it is, is half round rubber, 1/4 in from what I can remember. Just get 3-4 ft of it McMaster Carr or Steele rubber products or even your local hardware store. Just glue it in once you get it Very simple, no need for a BMW part

I had the same experience as HB Chris a few years ago and I recall a bit after that DQ putting up a detailed post on how to get the seal to stay.
