I spotted this 2000 Touring with Alpina graphics and LOTS of lights in inner Southeast Portland yesterday. Does anyone know if Alpina modified Tourings? My apologies for the poor pictures of it. It's RHD, Chamonix paint and had a roll cage and what looked to be Corbeau seats. The exterior had fender flares, hood latches, cool steel wheels and the aforementioned lots of lights.

The owner has brought it to our BMW Cars&Coffee a couple of times. Pretty sure he created it, all with authentic period bits. Cool car.

Nice! I wasn't able to attend C&C for a long time because of Saturday scheduling conflicts. That time is freed up now. As long as my poor mechanical skills suffice to get the car running, I hope to be at the next one.

Cool! I'm bringing my 'new' e30 that I just bought. I've had/have 19 BMWs but never an e30. Neighbors's car that I couldn't pass up.

tell us more about your new e30. i've only had one e30, but it was an ///M3. i have always liked the e30, mainly because of the m20 2.5L that's what i like about the e21 323i. both could benefit from the m52 engine - 2.8L / 3.0L twin cam

The M20 is a incredibly smooth little motor. A little anemic, especially when paired with an automatic, but what a gem

I’ve seen the car at C&C as well. It’s a great build. I’ve chatted with the owner. As I recall he’s a recent transplant from the SF Bay Area and was involved in the 02 scene there for quite a while.
@coupedegrace hope to see you at the next C&C 7/27.

I only know the M20 from the 520/6 E12 we have in the family...with a 4-speed manual it is great.
As a carbed setup I find it really depends on the Solex 4A1 carb condition and tuning.
DQ found me a few years ago a NOS 4A1 as the original one had warped beyond use...
