Alpina Bilstein shock help

I called Bilstein 4 or 5 years ago and spoke with their technical office, a person named Junior. He was helpful in many ways . I sent him images of my rear Alpina upside down shocks as I wanted to get them rebuilt and he said he could find no data on them. I still have them in hopes of getting them rebuilt but in the meantime, went with a new set of Bilsteins for the rear.

Did you call Bilstein? They will rebuild them, not sure the cost however.

I talked to Bilstein about rebuilding a set of shocks a few years ago. I think they were in San Diego. Pricing was more than new, but they would build them to your spec.

Bilstein no longer rebuilds shocks in the US. They recommend you send them to Performance Shock in Sonoma. Your experience might be different, but I sent Performance Shock a pair of Alpina Bilstein struts and found that A) they no longer have people there who are knowledgable about them and B) wanted something like $1200 each to rebuild.

I ended up sending that set directly to Bilstein Germany for refurbishment, and later sent several other shocks. The cost is something more like $200 per shock, plus $100 if you want them painted. Even with shipping it's way cheaper and they know what they're doing.
