Anyone ever come across one of these?

Its an ALPINA-Kennedy BMW toolkit, all tools BMW branded, made in west Germany.
If I had this I would seriously want my car to break down just so I could use it.

Sorry Michael, i would prefer my "modern" tools in break down. It is a nice gadget for a OEM car.
My experience is that those , even BMW branded, are of minor quality compared to modern tools. The good ( expensive , yes) tools , not chinese ofcourse !

The tool roll and wrenches are all from a 2002, it looks like a mish mash of unrelated tools in a tool box with an Alpina badge stuck on it.

Correct. It is not a complete nor proper tool kit for the cars it is supposed to go with. E3 E9 E12 and some E28 cars depending on date of manufacture.

Well, maybe it’s proper for one car..:-).
I liked some of the pics, it would make a good story at a local car show.
Some one spent some time on that. :)
