A friend sent me an interesting post from FB.

A man is looking for information about this car.

I took screenshots from a post on the E9 lovers group.
The whole story in the gallery below.

interesting story - any idea of what the car VIN is? next question is what the engine number is, and whether there is a separate 3 or 4 digit number also on the engine.

The owner did not include information about the VIN or engine number in the post.
Reading the history of this car, these numbers may not exist at all.

"The body shell was a spare they had laying around from the first homologated race cars and had to be returned to BMW to be crushed along with engines etc. They had built it just for the show, but they could build it as a road car using spares they had not sent back, but it would have to be painted green and road registered as a CS with a log book they had laying around."

Saw this on facebook as well, super interesting!
Check out the dual exhaust tips, haven't seen that before..

I can believe the parts about the bitter divorce and the greedy salesman.
Just don't go peeling your car's paint looking for archeological layers.
