Do the center caps and lugs from my 74 stock alpina looking wheels fit real alpina's?
And the cost to remove a flat spot in a rim.
Thank in advance Tim.

I think I'm going to purchase these Alpina's without caps,1 wheel with a flat spot and 1 with a ding on the inside and was wondering what you think they are worth? I know you can have them straighten but I don't know the cost and Powder coat is around 75.00 a wheel.
The other wheels he has are the 15" Enkie's for 300.00 that look good but need paint and cleaning but look straight? Thanks for any input,Tim.

In my neck of the woods, refinishing a wheel including straightening runs about $150 per. Unless they know what they are doing, powder coating an aluminum wheel can be problematic and weaken the structure. I have seen some grizzly photos of a Corvette C5 wheel that broke in pieces after powder coating.

You might want to track what these are going for. Shipping would be crazy expensive though.

Yes, the BMW caps are a direct and perfect fit. They mount from the back of wheel and are a lot more secure and cannot be stolen or fall off like the Alpina caps. The Alpina exterior snap on caps are held on to the wheels with a series of weak clips and as stated earlier, will either fall of by themselves or are prone to sticky finger thieves. To rectify these problems, some have applied a heavy bead of silicone to the inside mating cap and wheel surfaces. Many Alpina rim owners have gone with the oem BMW caps.

as bert says above, yes they are a perfect fit.
these are mine - i didn't trust that the plastic alpina caps wouldn't go walking off. unless you have the wheel off, the caps won't come off (they mount from the inside)

I pick them up for 400.00 this morning so I'm going to have the old tires removed and check how true there are.

Justed picked up 2 of my rims with the tires mounted and they look great. The used tires are General Exclaim UHP and I love the tread pattern. The other 2 tires are coming from Ohio so it will be few more days.If anyone wants my old rims and tires just let me know and if you have any parts I need maybe we trade?Rims are very clean with no rash at all, 2 of the tires(Dunlop A2 Sport) are in very good shape and others(Same) a little bit of wear on the outside.I can text pictures if interested. Thanks Tim

I don't think there is a nicer look on these cars than a set of staggered Alpina's! :- )

Picture of the progress. Tickering with a strip and yes this car needs a 20k paint job but when your wife flips on a set of Alpina's that I for payed 575.00 with tires I know a paint job is not in this cars future but she was elected to the Board of Hot August Nights so she might let me start the 5 speed transfusion.
PS I know this photo isn't for the Purist so open at your own risk.

$575 for a set of 16" alpinas, with tires, wow that was an awesome deal.

I just paid $800 for a set that needs fixing, paint and tires. I thought I got a deal.... Guess not as good as you..... Again wow.

Your wife is probably just jealous, that is a nice looking ride.

Thanks Wayne for the compliment. If you are looking for tires I picked up a complete matching set on best used tires.com 1-brand new,2 like brand new and 1 close to wear bar but I only drive a 1-3K in a summer. One of the like brand new was $23.00+shipping.

Too late, I already bought a set of Goodyear Eagle GTs, 205/55 r16 front and 225/50 r16 rear, all new for $300.

Still not as good as your deal, but I can live with it.
