alpina Wheels? Originals Painted or Powdercoated?

I have a set of 14" Alpina wheels I want to refinish and wanted to know if they were painted or powdercoated from the factory? I have used strong paint strippers but only the black center lifted and no effect on the silver paint, this leads me to believe they were powdercoated. Anyone know for sure?

Originally painted, but may have been powdercoated sometime along the way. Are you looking to sell them?

Has anyone tried stripping the paint with an off the shelf stripper? Does it work for factory painted wheels? They seem to be much more resistant to chemicals than body paint. I used the Klean-Strip product sold at local hardware stores but not happy with results.

Don't mess with something that may attack the aluminum. Go to Speedway.
