So, after two years and a rather lengthy list of changes, the time had finally arrived for Annabelle’s coming out. It was a cozy little affair, with roughly 200,000 people, 1800 other cars in attendance. Needless to say, I would like to extend my gratitude to the good people of Pittsburgh for putting on such a lovely affair in her honor, what with all the shiny cars vying for her attention and the little races and all that.

The debutante was, of course, resplendent in her debut:

Accompanied by travel companions BlueBell and BMWSKI...

Annabelle was warmly greeted by Pedro Yap’s e9 and by Athena upon her arrival.

It was an event that will long be remembered.

Chris,

Happy that you were able to make the trip up this year with Annabelle, and bringing along Wayne, Tom, and Doug too. Our coupes looked nice together.
Hope you had a good trip home.

VERY NICE Chris. Looks a LOT different than it did last September when I last saw her. Great work (and I DO like the black grilles and wipers on her!! - ha)

Thanks Gang. I love the PVGP. The sights and sounds and smells; its such a visceral experience. Sensory overload for a car guy.

And this year, as a bonus, I even got an education in one of the latest technological crazes. You see, I had no earthly idea why two twenty-somethings would wander out onto a road course completely oblivious to their surroundings staring intently into their phones. Nor did I understand why, after I called to the corner workers that they had spectators on the track and the corner workers jumped up and ran over to clear the track, that the female twenty-something seemed more intent on maintaining eye contact with her phone than in gaining an understanding that she was potentially in mortal peril. Fortunately, Wayne's wife Fran was on hand to explain the importance of PokemonGo.

Looking good!!!
The twenty something would have been one of many in recent days to encounter bodily harm playing pokemon

Lovely Pair Stan!!!
As for the 20 somethings, their brains are being hardwired and synapses are opening and closing differently than ours. Perhaps their brains even look different. Waiting for the touch screen model. So a light touch on the forehead will alert them to danger. And post a video on youtube at the same time.
Steve

Well, yes. I tend to think numerous PokemonGo players will win Darwin Awards this year.

That said, I would not have wanted to watch those two idiots being mowed down by a vintage racer. It would have been ugly, would have damaged a vintage race car and traumatized the driver, and most likely would have been the demise of the last Vintage road race remaining in the US.

ITS quite amazing it seems that now almost every single coupe is in pristine condition on on its way there
when i got mine in 81 it was mr ping and i competing for the trophy's of which i won .

Great line up. Always fun if you are able to attend such show's with friends sharing your passion. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I should say thanks to Peter who was instrumental in helping me find and acquire Annabelle, Chris Macha for consultation on her inspection, Shanon for his wheels, Stevehose (and Steve Bingham) for help with the Webers, SFDon for the radiator and fan cowling and door cards, Tom (BMWSKI) for the intake gaskets and trunk carpet and console, Gary for the hood grills and wipers, Stan for the exhaust manifolds, Bimmerboy for the rear bumper and trunk floor, and Al (BAVMAN) Taylor for a whole bunch of stuff including the Getrag 5 speed and bell housing and shifter platform and lightweight flywheel and bumper horns...

I'm sure I'm forgetting many others.

Alan, there's something to be said for having a "Mr. Ping & Ding" at least you won't be afraid to drive it and park it and you won't care if a bird dungs on it :-)
