Thanks to everyone who offered their opinion on my other thread re paint scheme. One more question (for now
) before i get started. I've been considering painting the engine bay a flat or satin black. I'm not considering it because i want to take a shortcut or hide anything. The car is VERY solid rust wise and save for the elephant skin peeling, the only 'issue' is the dirt and grime. I've always been fond of the old ferrari's (the 275 for example) that sported the contrasting, black engine bay /trunk colors and thought that the scheme could also look good on the coupe. i know that typically when you see blacked out engine bays in the e9 world its a sign that all might not be well. Any examples out there of a tastefully done job? I'd be interested in where to transition the black and whether the texture complicates cleaning.
