Any rationale for all of my windows on my 1973 3.0 CS have stopped working?

Fuses are ok, as well as window switch connections.

Thoughts welcome.

Thanks

THIS HAS THE thermal switches in the lower dash below the steering wheel
maybe they had gone?
rearm them ?

2 fuse in fuse box ?

Do you have a power window master switch on the driver's door?

never heard of such a thing

Series 2 cars have the 2 circuit breakers under the dash, from memory power goes to one breaker and piggy backs off to the second, if all 4 windows have stopped simultaneously first port of call would be to check wiring and see if you are getting continuity from fuse box to the breaker, if OK then check from breaker to window switches, 1 breaker does left side the other does the right , if all is OK there, and switches are seeing power, remove the kick panels and probe the 2 pin plastic block to see for continuity from window switch when activated to rule that out.

Sounds to me like a break in the power feed, you could run a fused 12v test feed to the breaker input and if Windows work as intended that's your culprit

The E12 has one - I didn’t know if late E9s did too. Those are wired such that if, say, the passenger window switch on the master switch doesn’t work, the switch on the passenger door won’t work either.
