......Aluminum Trim Deoxidizer from BavAuto (#07500100002 Aluminum Trim Deoxidizer)??

Does it work? (seems pricey)....is there alternative method to DIY trim freshening?

I have not tried this stuff but I used Mothers Aluminum polish ($5-6 per tub) on my Nardi wheel with fantastic result. It was once dull it is now as bright as chrome; simply rub it on and then rub it off - it seems to be non-abrasive. I did try it on the chrome on my front grills and it also made it shine dramatically; however, it did nothing to remove / hide the pitting from being hit by a million insects.

I'll Mothers a try on some Aluminum trim and let you know next week.

I looked at the stuff (I live about 5 miles from Bav Auto).
Three small bottles of stuff and a sheet of 1000 grit wet sand.

Tom in WC has a method using EZ Off to remove anodizing then sanding with 600 then 800 grit then polishing on a grinder wheel using clothe wheels and tipoli then white rouge respectively.

His belt trim looks awesome where he did it. I am trying it on the rear aluminum panel where the license plate sits.

Thx for the tips fellas.
I was wondering if there was a product/technique utilizing a 'buffing' wheel polishing concept.

BTW: What is 'tipoli then white rouge respectively'?
('something' then a metal/chrome polish?)

thx again

My next door neighbour (metal smith) put me onto a German product called Autosol (available from most car parts stores over here).
It does not require a buffing tool but the results were amazing when I used it on the heavily oxidised external aluminuim sun shade of my 1965
Chrysler wagon - have also used on the chrome work of the E9 with very good results. Worth a try.
