Anyone recognize this Fuel Pump?

This is the fuel pump that stranded me on the highway earlier in the week. A fellow forum member visited today (Gary Bellamy) and we decided to go for a spin and a block away from home it went out again. It took four rounds of tapping on the top to get enough fuel in the bowls to make it home. I'd like to replace it with an identical looking and fitting one. I would think this must be the standard pump they fit to weber equipped M30's back in the day.

If anyone knows of a source for this type of pump it would be appreciated.

Thanks a Ton. I am off to do a Google search. Hopefully it is available locally.

Carter is made by Federal Mogul, so it should be a shelf item at about any auto parts store. It's a rotary type pump vs. pulse.

Since you said "fill bowls" make sure they know it's for a carb at 4-7 lbs psi.

I think Accel has the same just under their name.

If you can wait a couple days- JEGS-Carter P4070 - Carter $30 cheaper than the model you have but it's the same.

These are terrible fuel pumps. You would be better off replacing it with something else.

Hi Wayne, can you elaborate on the terrible aspect? I was hoping to keep the car as it was originally put together. I am hoping I have an Alpina Engine, and I believe this is the pump they came with. I think I will add a fuel pressure gauge and regulator, as I am reading the Webers want to see 3.5 PSI.

Bob,
Alpina mounted the fuel pump in the trunk and did not use US marine pumps so you need not be concerned about the originality of your current set up.

Gerrit, do you know where in the trunk they put them?
