I have USAA for my auto and home insurance and they have been quite fair. I insure my e9 through American Collectors Insurance via USAA.

USAA now say they are using American Modern for collector vehicle insurance. Anyone have any experience with them? I would think USAA did their homework.

They have typical agreed value as do most collector insurance. The nice things - for about $50/yr you can occasionally drive to work. You can also choose from several mileage categories (e.g. 1000, 3000/yr) and can roll over unused miles (sort of like a cell phone).

They said if engine was changed (e.g. 3.5L, Webers) it was considered "modified" and this set $250 minimum for insurance.

Quote is ~ $250-300 for $26K agreed with 3K miles and $500 deductable for collision and comprehensive.

I paid $269 with American Collectors with no deductable, but could not drive to work. I know some folks have gotten insurance for <$200. I am more interested in flexibility than saving $50 (if I wanted to save $50 I would not have bought an e9).

Thoughts? Thanks.

I insure with Geico, and called them when I got my CS last month. They put me through to American Modern as well. If USAA and Geico are referring them, I feel pretty comfortable with that. I'm paying $150 for 3K miles and a $13K value on an unmodified car.

I also read through the policy, and it look fair, no lame fine print other than staying off racetracks!

I've got Haggerty. Very happy with them. Stated valve at 30K. Bodily Injury / Property damage and uninsur motorist set at 500K. They also insur the extra misc parts up to 1k. The difference I have found is that mileage is not checked and the car is cover in case of an earthquake. (never know about big one here in CA) Annual dues are $315.
