Are all M30 starter motors interchangeable?

Are all M30 starter motors interchangeable? In other words can I take a starter motor from a late model 5 series and use it in our cars?

I looked up under Maximillian starter part number 12411272150 and came up with..
E12 528i,530i
E23 733i, 735i

I don't know about more contemporary M30s engine.\

I successfully used a started motor from a 1991 735i. It bolts right in. The body is a smaller diameter which makes it much easier to get to the two mounting bolts (especially the inside one). The working gear end appears to be the same size.
