Going overseas forces the sale of my much loved, weekend driven E9 coupe.

Asking $22,400 AUD

I've had it for two years and it has been an eye-catching, very reliable joy in that time. A local car; the previous owner was an elderly gentleman who I understand had the car for many years (it still has his Royal Yacht Club of Victoria member sticker on the screen) and who looked after it with great care. He had it re-sprayed in 2006.

On buying the car I had it cavity waxed (sills, A-pillar, doors) and converted from an automatic to a factory 4 speed with work carried out by an E9 specialist. In 2007 I had the car reupholstered with Leffler leather in deep blue. At the same time I installed a Carl Nelson spring set. It has Koni's on the rear, OEM shockers at front.

The air conditioning is perfect, the heating as good as it ever gets!
It has a small amount of rust around the sun roof that I was intending to remove when I removed the sun roof itself but I haven’t had time to do so.

Other than that the car is in great condition. I have the original steering wheel – if the buyer doesn’t want to use the Nardi wheel currently installed and a replacement vent for the centre console.

Looks like I'll end up in New York - looking forward to learning to change with my right hand....

NYC?

Thank you for the comp. Not sure that I'd like a coupe if I'm living somewhere like the Bronx but the upside is that I get to visit Watkins Glen a lot - one of the great historic circuits in the world.

Having said that, Google streetview of the Bronx reminds me on inner Melbourne where I live now, so who knows. But I do think I'd like to live in a dryer state before getting an E9 over there.

umh, Dave?

Beyond having to put away your toys for a few months, what's wrong with New York? If you want a rural feel, the Bronx happens to be the borough with the most park land in New York City. It also is very large with diverse demographics; check out Riverdale in comparison to Hunts Point.

If you don't have to sell it, hold on to it and consider shipping it up at a later date. The other wonderful thing about New York City is mass transit. You can garage your car in another part of town and get to it easily.

Good luck with the move, and the car, whatever you decide. Welcome to the City that never sleeps.

Thanks for the interest everyone. Unfortunately the car is off the market. I say unfortunately because my company has decided to put my US posting on hold. I guess its good if I get to keep the car though!
Thanks for the support.
