I have been having to turn the key a couple of times before starter kicks in. I have checked that my jumper wire is still tight in connecting box. Has anyone that done the conversion had this problem?
Thanks Tim

What jumper wire (the one for the reverse lights)?

Did you follow Carl Nelson's write up? He says the following:

It will be necessary to remove the starter interrupt relay. Follow the black wire down from the back of the ignition switch. It will go into a relay. Unplug the black wire and plug it into the clear connector under the fuse box with a similar black wire. This will be occupied with a black and white wire from the same relay. Remove the relay and extra wires.

If it's not the starter interrupt relay, it could be a starter solenoid that's getting tired. My Mercedes diesel would do the same thing and it gradually got worse. Replacing the starter fixed it but I probably could have had it rebuilt for less. Much less.

There are later version starters that fit our cars and are smaller, making it easier to install.

I bought this one, (12-41-1-466-100, 12-41-1-720-663, 12-41-1-720-664) but haven't installed it so I can't confirm this is the right one. It's less than $65.
Check the previous forum posts to verify.

Hi
I did follow Carl's write up and Don L help me with how to add the jumper wire so the car will start. When it gets warm is when it happening so I'm going to replace it. Thank you
