Automatic Transmission replacement HELP

hello all, I need your help to identify what this cable does… I’m trying to replace the transmission as my previous failed to reverse. So I have another set I’m trying to put in, when my friend helped me to take it down we didn’t see where the cable goes. Could you tell me how the cable and the linkage next to it connect?

I suspect it is a kick-down cable.

When you press down on the accelerator the cable mechanically drops the transmission into a lower gear. This is similar to downshifting in a manual transmission as you accelerate to pass on the highway or ascend a hill. The lower gear improves acceleration momentarily.

Here is a photo of the adjustment on my personal CSA. Working fine. Counted the threads when I removed cable for an engine block "freshening", replaced, and everything works as it should. Use as a guide as you re-attach. Good luck, let us know. Mike
