Hi,
My mechanic says I need to replace the auxiliary air slide and attached air filter on my 1974 3.0csi - any suggestions on where I might buy them?

My first attempts suggest that the air filter is no longer available (this is scheduled to be replaced every 40,000kms (or miles, not sure).

I have also posted a message in the parts classifieds, but it seems to me this is the first item/items that I cannot find .

Any help out there?

Thanks
Peter

Had the same problem. Managed to resusitate mine. Not available that Icould find. You might try some MB classic parts, they also used djet in some cars.

Hi Peter, firstly, why did your mechanic say that you need to replace the air slider ?...has it been visually observed if the piston in the slider is closing (or not ) as the engine heats up ?If all else fails, Bosch can remanufacture but quite pricey I believe. They come up on ebay occasionally but no guarantee and you might end up buying a dud. Cheers, Simon

Hi Peter,

Had the same question last week, probably you already find something for yourself, but I find this part as a perfect match.
It's a K&N Crankcase breather filter, article number 62-1360. Fit's perfect to the auxiliary air valve.

Period Volvo's (ES1800) and Volkswagen 412's used D-Jet also, that might be a source for the filters.

Where's Andrew? Seems like he figured out a replacement

I use an oil breather filter like the one suggested. Inserts easily and peened over the flared opening to hold the filter in the housing.
