Hello everyone, I want to find out what car my e9 engine is from, when I bought it another engine was already mounted, it has a flow meter, an oil cooler that seems original, and the intake manifold is the same as a CSI, where can I find out any engine number to identify it? Thank you all

The VIN is stamped on the flat boss above the starter, move the heater hose a bit to see it. Looks like an L-jet motor which could be from a 3.0Si.
or maybe early (Karmann) E24 CSi or E23

Only VIN will tell in regards to block as the rest might have been exchanged over time.

Sometimes VIN is also located on the ECU or based on BOSCH ECU part number you will be able to check from which car is was taken from.
