...is finally (fingers crossed) a good running CSL. To quote TJ, i'm also absolutely stoked.
After Rohan generously offered me a hand with the hestation and idling problem i promptly took it over to his place yesterday. After testing, the TPS was found to be functioning correctly, but once removed the problem seemed to go away. So Rohan (i'd like to say we, but in all honestly i didn't have much of a clue what was going on) decided to change the ECU with one that definately worked just to rule that out. On removing mine (which i'd come across the other day and thought might be some kind of old amplifier) we found that there had been a fairly high impact to the back grill on one corner and once replaced with the working one, the car has started to run fine. With the working ECU generously still fitted for testing purposes, i made my way home from north to south london with the CSL running like a dream, no hestation when accelerating and no stumbling, just a throughly enjoyable drive. I'm going to take it out every night this week to make sure, but hopefully thats the probelm solved.
i've managed to locate another working CSL ECU (red sticker intact), but i just need to make sure its definately for a CSL. The number on the back ends 007, does this make it CSL?
Anyway, massive thanks to everyone for there tips and ideas and also to Rohan for his time and help. My faith has now been fully restored and i'm off in search of a set 16" alpinas.
