I can bet you he has already talked to the owner and knows exactly the bottom price....

This would make sense as a group buy + part out although it seems unlikely for some reason...

Ever present. I was actually clued into this one by maxxfish. I don't scan eBay regularly. I am not going to buy this myself, given that we are at 2.5K with reserve unmet. I will entertain a group by and facilitate a part out though. I am very close to Lynwood. I'll message the seller this afternoon. it would be nice to keep the shell intact as I'd hate to kill an e9.
 
Stan, are you trying to get me in more trouble that I already am in with my better half? I am just coming off of a non-BMW project that dragged on for awhile.

It could be an interesting challenge if anyone out there is ready to spend, say, $150k.... call me;)
 
I messaged the seller. I am definitely within visiting distance. With that said, there is very little about this car that interests me. I like the metal coolant tank. :D
 
I could be interested in some d-jet stuff if there is enthusiasm to pursue a group parts effort.

I think seller's are super aggressive about pricing these days, we as buyers should get a leg up & make sure the cars & parts go to good homes....I also think this is around 2.5k but getting it bought there would take a group effort of us vs. owner.

I don't mean that in a bad way, its just that this car has lost its way & someone needs to sort it out be it parts car or project.

E9 projects are very difficult to get a handle on these days so that option is a highly unlikely one.

yeah we've been talking but I told him that I will not be bidding. I don't think the car will sell in this round, and gave him my contact info. It may be worth $3K to someone, but not to me. I honestly don't want to deal with another e9 right now. :(
 
Reserve not met at $3,550. The seller "restores these cars and knows what they are worth!"
 
I don't think he'll want less than $8k for it.

It will need another $20k in parts and $40k in labor. This rusty, it will need to be acid-dipped and rotisserie restored.

That looks like body filler to me.

This thing supposedly sold for $8600. We have another Gogoout on our hands. I think the entire auction was a joke, particularly the fact that it "sold".
