Not mine, no affiliation, just popped up on my eBay watch list.

Looks like it needs everything, but it's also a No Reserve auction currently at $565, so those in need of a project.....

I have never seen the automatic shift indicator pod located in the center of the dash before, is this proper for a '74, or is this some custom fit thing?

That started in 1974 I believe. It actually looks less "JC Whitney add-on" than the earlier versions mounted to the steering column, IMHO.

Previous auction for this same basket (nice looking tho) ended last week with a 'winning bid' of $1,725 but evidently the buyer balked, so it's back on...

It is an ugly location.Took mine off when I redid dash(still off- don't know where to put it!)Location might also be due to steering column being adjustable and indicator won't fit on top of steering shaft cover(I tried)

Shift indicator

Seller claims it's a euro version

PaulinPA-is yours a euro also? wondeering if the factory stuc them there or is was mandated by DOT when it was imported, sort of like the side market lenses.

anyway, I'm thinking dedicated track car project for this puppy. Too many hard-to-find bits seem to be missing, but it could provide a nice basis for a tribute build of some sort. like Grp 2 tribute.

Arde, just confess that you are actually Steve Jobs from Apple, on vacation?

Yep, and truly believe that GM can be saved by Apple taking it over. Imagine Apple industrial design and UIs? Talk to your congressman, now that we own it, let's give it to Apple.

The indicator moved from column to dash on all `74s probably due to the adjustable column. It certainly isnt any more visible over there. My `73 had it on the column and visibility was fine before I converted to a 5 speed.

You know when they start off the ad with a history of BMW the car is going to have issues....

That makes more sense Chris...I had just heard the DOT rumors....lol!

Sold for $1,125(?) Not too bad a deal for someone who needs new rocker panels and maybe bumpers/trim.... Not in CA though as I read it. Florida car.
