The seller doesn't say "inka" but it looks like a nicely sorted example. Underside is painted with undercoat stripped so that allows a good look at the floor pans that are in great shape. Would like to see some more pictures of the other rust prone areas, but what is shown looks good.

Great color but looks like they painted a car without addressing the underlying corrosion issues. Still, looks like a nice car for the right money.

perhaps our friend @alprada70 might know something about it. its from Bogota ... just a long shot that he might have seen it or know something about it. after all, some cars from Atlanta went up on BaT, and several of us here knew basically nothing about the cars / seller.

Hello, I know the car.
Original color Granatrot met.

In pic 49 it looks like there was paint applied without removing the belt trim in that spot. Also a late 74 with a pre 74 non adjustable steering column. Missing rubber trim on rear quarter sills, door locks, etc. What else was missed?

Or… they put the trim on too soon after pain, and the trim pushed the paint up as they tightened the tiny nuts. I think this might be avoided by using masking tape to hold the trim in the final position (higher up on the body), and then tightening the nuts.

The owner lives in the Ft. Lauderdale area. He drove this coupe while his wife drove a 323i to a FuelFed Cars & Classics a few months ago. He mentioned that it was going on Bat in the future. They brought both cars here from Columbia. Both doors have a shut line that closes the windows very tight against each other. Redline BMW has been repairing all models of BMW's for about 40 years,so I'm sure the A/C is working properly.

Do you see rust popping up? I'm not seeing it.

I think the car looks great, but whoever repainted it Inka instead of the original Granatrot should be slapped.

My only nit is ugly insulation in the engine compartment:

Sold at $72,000. I thought it would be more
Honestly ??
May I ask, is it known, how many of the regular ,high bidders‘ on BaT for E9 cars,
like for ex. @Wayne9 = are also members here and at least have the chance to
follow the comments made here ??

I am just trying do understand what it is, that is going on……!?

That wayne9 is not the Wayne K on our Forum. Almost all bidders know nothing about the e9 except that they want one and are willing to listen to those who know even less. And as members here have told us they don't even call the seller or perform a PPI, they get what they deserve i think.

My recent experience with BaT was exactly this. Buying and bidding behavior that's much more impulsive than informed. Bidders see rarity, styling, rising values (at least until recently), and whip out their checkbooks. They shrug off warnings about rust or questionable repairs, don't consult the knowledge on this forum, don't ask the right questions or arrange a PPI. It's like an alternate reality over there, with only a few exceptions.
