I started the process with Bring A Trailer to put my Sahara Restomod Coupe up for auction. My 1974 Sixto Coupe is up and running and Sahara is not being driven. Time for a new owner to take over for the 18 years I've been working on and driving it. It's been a great road car, dependable, stylish and economical. The modded M30B34 Euro 10:1 3.4 engine has been great. It came out of a 1984 635 CSi. Switching to a MegaSquirt ECU for the FI, 5 speed O drive and the Schrick 284 cam makes it very dependable and drivable. Not the best time to sell our Coupes but I've set a reasonable reserve and if it doesn't meet that in this market I'll hold on for another day.
I'll report back on how it goes with BaT and if anyone has any question (besides reserve) regarding Sahara I'm glad to answer.
Regards, Jon

What are you looking for in terms of $$ ?

Stan,
I’m not posting the requested reserve as that would not serve me well during the auction. You can probably guess close to the number based on the mods and what it would cost to reproduce it now. Note the HP&Torque.
Here are some recent pictures.

Well I finally negotiated the reserve with BaT. The process was what you'd expect. They low balled me at $50k and I laughed at that and let them know they were way off. I think in the Capitalist World everyone is looking for a dumb customer/buyer/consigner and in the back and forth let them know I was not happy with their first number. I opted for the professional photographer and now will have to compile the important mods from the 181 invoice entries in my build book. Very glad I did this as it has all the invoices plus summary pages to easily find the specific invoice. I still like analog records as they are easy to access. I may have another Dyno run as I've made some improvements since the posted one was done.
I'm sure to be a bit sad to see Sahara go but it has been overshadowed and isn't getting enough Love from me. I'll post some notes as I go through the process to give others a sense of how BaT operates.
Regards, Jon

sounds like a really good plan Jon ... i know someone will get a really nice car. a great dyno run is worth having / showing to potential buyers. i think the brightwork really sets off the sahara well. GLWA ... i think you will do well.

Hey thanks for sharing Jon. Good luck! Yes, please share your experience. I have a very sweet Ferrari 360 Spider I am soon to sell on BAT. And I was wondering how the reserve negotiation with them works! -Jim
