Nicely presented, most of the photos you would like to see. This one is substantially modified, and suspect that it will do very well given recent results.

Black painted wood around the speedo isn't looking nice. Engine compartment neither.

From some reason the body coat is peeling off. Strange for restored part. Seem someone ship some important part of preparation process.

This car looks "risky" to me.

I’m curious about the seats. The seatbacks look somewhat e9 ish but the bottoms are more Recaro ish.

They are in fact period Recaro S seats with early CS headrests (10mm post). AFAIK they were never offered with this headrest combination. You can find these seats in the accessories catalog for the 2002, but they have traditional headrest post locations.

I really, really like the seats!

I think they are well done also.

Engine that likely has big power, plus 2 on the wheels, Bilstein HDs and poly bushings in the suspension; at some point you need to think about transmitting all those stresses into the body structure.

Paint may be tired, but I see no rust poking through (other than the area near the "Automatic" emblem on the trunk; weird place to rust).

Wonder if he's using a Tii brake booster w/that tarantula intake:

Interesting how picky I've become! The body accent lines look completely missing to my eyes. The door strips and blacked out dash panel are small items but sure do make a difference. I do lke the seats but miss those small chrome accents. Nice car but I'd have to see it in person...with a magnet and see what comes up.

My old CSi was black w a sunroof and AC. Loved that car but it sure did get dirty quickly. Small price to pay though if you love that color as so many do.

I learn something new every day.

Agree. Why paint that wood? Another odd thing about the dash: it's obviously been re-upholstered, yet the builder retained the "Fasten Seat Belt" pod. Clearly he isn't looking for a perfectly restored car, so why not customize that detail too?

Also puzzled why the headliner wasn't replaced or at least painted. Ditto for the chipped air vent ahead of the gearshift. Odd to do so much interior work, but skip those two highly-visible items.

I think $75k is good money considering all the little things that it still needs and interior wonkiness. As well as:

"...bubbling paint around the top of the hood, above the passenger-side rear wheel arch, at the top of the passenger-side front fender, and at the bottom of the trunk lid."

Also, when installing stuff, should always try to at least, paint the bolts/nuts if not get the plated so they wouldn't rust like this. A bit unsightly. At least the chassis isn't rusty.

Mark - those are repops from GTS. A real set of early 911 sport seats are 8-10k. Nice seats nonetheless.

Ahh yes they do look like GTS copied. FWIW I didn’t say they were 911 sport seats. BMW offered these recaros as a factory accessory. With that said I don’t know what I don’t know. Makes sense if GTS made them given the headrest placement.

My knowledge of pre-LX recaros is somewhat limited. At any rate, here are few similar ones...

To answer in advance, yes it is very expensive to ship seats from Germany. I spent about 600€ getting my scheels over.

Didn't know they were an option on coupes! The GTS seats are copies of the 911 version I believe (which is where a huge portion of GTS seats, go) so I was going off that form factor. Makes sense Recaro would make them for anything in that period.
