Driving North on Highway 17 today I saw a familiar shape in an unfamiliar color in the fast lane. I accelerated, unleashing all 282 horsepowers in my mighty F150 and whipped out my iPhone to make some pictures. Sadly the new forum format doesn't allow me to upload or even reference the location of the photo on my flickr, but it's a green car, with number 94 roundels on it. It has CSL stripes, Alpinas, and wheel arch trim, along with white seats. You can see an attachment over the C-pillar for the roof hoop, and the front airdam had a big read "BMW Motorsport" decal on it. Just some guy driving it with a kid in the passenger seat. I'm assuming that this was the $120K Bat that just sold at auction over the weekend?

You can find photos on my Flickr page which is:

You were apparently just heading out to Concorso about the time I rolled in on Friday in Carmel. That green car arrived later and was parked next to me. It was determined by Terry to be a domestic '74, if I'm not mistaken, and looked a lot like a car I looked at many years ago in the San Rafael area, - a bit oxidized at that time. Shows "D.W. Imports Racing" on the front from Pacheco, Ca.

Regardless of what it actually is (not the Bonhams bat), the owners son had a truly infectious enthusiasm for his Dad's car that would make anyone a believer...

So how was the eye-talian show?
