Well... I've had the 'new' coupe in my garage a couple of weeks now (this was velocewest's - Tony's - car).
All's been well with only one gremlin I'm chasing - the car is great otherwise.

Then last night... I was going to move the car from one garage to another... Wouldn't start even after being on a trickle charger for the week.
The weather had been much cooler with the temps dropping a bit... That evidently was too much for the 8 year old battery. Won't hold a charge now.

I'm considering an Optima red top. Anyone have success with these in the E9? I figure the group 35 would work

I might just get a 'regular' battery as well.

As such-
What BCI group # battery do you all run? The one installed was 75/86 DT (dual terminal). The group 35 is the top term equivalent to that one and may be the best fit but wanted see what others may be using.

Just curious as to what folks run.

well well

8 years isn't a world record for one battery, but it's a contender.

"Any battery that will fit" will probably do pritnear as well as an uber-expensive Optima. Costco, et al., will sell you a battery that will do just fine.

Do you know the difference between CCA (cold cranking amps) and RC (reserve capacity), and which one of those you want more of, for you conditions? Therein, methinks, lies the answer, not in brand names...
