Hi everyone,

More questions from a prospective buyer. What kind of parts do the Bavaria and Coupe have in common? Is a Bavaria a good source for mechanical and interior parts?

Hello,
The cross over parts are limited to the drive train, engine tranmission rear end, breaking system radiator stearing system and general items like wipper motor, heater fan, sensors, some a/c parts, door handles clips and the like. No interior part cross over.

Well if you want to nitpick, the little chrome caps on the front door pulls, the dome light, as well as the interior door handles and most of the switchgear in the dash and steering column are shared. Also the bezels for the headrest posts, the rear view mirror, sunroof cranks...

In the big picture Brad is right, none of the major interior is shared, and nothing in the outer shell but grills, headlamp mounts and the gas cap. And rust of course, but a coupe will generally have more.
:?

Another arguement against stripping Bavarias for Coupe parts:

Bavarias are neat cars! I hate to seem them canibalized as a low-cost solution to keep Coupes running. Not to get into a holy war about whether 2-door or 4-doors are more "worthy" (I currently own one coupe, and have previously owned 2 Bavs).

The reality is that by 2008, there aren't a lot of examples of either model lying around as donors. But, please, if you buy a decent Bavaria with the intention of stripping it, don't let me know - I'll have nightmares!
