I went to the Retro Classics show in Stuttgart a few years ago. A small company, maybe the one in the article, had a booth that I visited. At the time they were fabricating a new nose for a crashed BMW 507 by hand. The workmanship was unbelievably good. I asked the young man that was doing the 507 work how a future owner would tell what was original and what was reconstructed. He pointed to an area that was difficult to see, and his initials were stamped in the metal.
