BBS style Rims

Greetings from the north: I have an opportunity to purchase some used japanese rims,( which could be Enkei), but don't say. They are polished alum. rim w/ honeycomb centre. 8jx16". Centre bore and bolt pattern appear correct. However the (ET) is not stamped. My factory 6x14's don't state either. I measured the inside offset of mine and get a read of 4 & 5/8ths. I will measure the same on sale items the next visit. My primary concern is the clearances, or lack there of, re: the diameter and width. (proximity to Macpherson strut and beyond fender lip)
Also, I realise I would be looking at a 50 or 55 series tire, and surely sacrifice some ride quality. Any experiences or knowledge on this subject would be appreciated.

Ruduger , i have 8.5" wheels on the rally car with ET13. They needed a little fender rolling but just clear the struts with tires 245/45/17. Best is to test mount the wheels and see what clears !
