OK, I'm bragging a little here...

Last Saturday was the first annual BMW Motorfest in Portland Or. It started with a tour and demo at HPF (Horse Power Freaks), a group cruise, and finally a car show at the Blitz Ladd Tavern. The show was unique, they blocked off a couple of streets for all of the cars (I think about 50-a lot of 2002s and only two e9s). There was a great band, good food, micro brew and wine, and great raffle prizes. The three awards were; Best Modern, Best Classic, and Best in Show.

Best Classic - Verona Red 2002 with M3 motor.

Best Modern - Phoenix Yellow E46 M3

Best in Show - My coupe!

Well done with the E9 , tell me something how can a 2002 with an m3 engine win " best classic " . Doesn't originality count here , or was this a modified class being judged .
Just for the record I have an E9 that I am converting to an E12 M535i engine so I am not standing on any soapboxes here , just wouldn't expect to win any " classic " shows .

In the 2002's defense, it was really nicely done. With the exception of the airdam, the body was stock with all of the moldings in place. But the rest of it...
