The last one I put on the RF lasted 15 years, but now its got a sticky / frozen piston. My experience has been you can rebuild, but it the long run its better to just buy a remanufactured one.

Where's the best source to buy a new remanufactured one?

Also, aren't the calipers from the 633csi and 528i the same?

I had a difficult time finding remans for the E9. Even Brake Part Supply didn't have them. To my surprise, Autozone could get them and they had a lifetime warrantee. That was a couple years ago.

I had Costa Mesa (Stan and crew?) rebuild mine and have been very pleased.

Front Calipers

I have an extra pair I had rebuilt by UCX, these are semi loaded [pins and anti rattle clips] I'll sell the pair for $100.00 plus freight. I can also provide a set of PBR metallics [aka Repco Metal Masters] for an extra $55.00. If you're interested e-mail @ [email protected]

My take on this about 6 months ago is that a lot of houses list them but when you try to order they can't fill the order.
Not sure how long ago you got one from Autozone?
I ended up rebuilding mine.
I think I did find a left one and needed right but it was like $150+.

I'd buy the pair Doug has.

The first reman LF caliper from Autozone was poor quality, and it leaked in the middle not the piston. Returned as defective. Also got a RF from them. Installed both in 2 hrs (that's 120 minutes) including bleeding. First one had no pins or the tensioner plate; the second one had all but one tensioner plate was the wrong size. We'll see how they work. At $60 ea it's a bargain, but poor quality is never a bargain.

After all...it just brakes?
