Hello All!

Just wanted to get some feedback on the best tape for re-wrapping the various wire harnesses. Came across the following products;

TESA #51025 -- 19mm x 25m

and

3M Friction Tape--3/4 x 20 feet

Also, I'm looking for a source for the spade type electrical connectors..

Comments?

Thanks,

Jerry

Neat thing about 3M is that every HomeDepot carries it.

I bought some yellow tape that is rated for more than 500 degrees F.

Had to use it in my kitchen oven.

TESA tape is very easy to work with and gives a nice result. I got it from my local BMW dealer. Though not the "original" E9 tape style.

Closest to original style tape would be the old-school tape (slightly tacky) that was used on hockey sticks. I remember the nice smell of bitumen :)

tesa

be aware there are two thicknesses of tesa
you want the thin one
the thick one is very bulky looking

3M sells two different "friction" tapes. One that is sticky on the outside and one that is simply fabric and is only sticky on the side that you are sticking it to. The sticky on the outside stuff attracts everything, is a pain to work with and will get very "gummy" when it is around heat. I would suggest the fabric style stuff.
