As there has been few 1974 USA that have sold recently the questions arise as to conversion to "chromies" I will include this link to some photos I have taken with a disclaimer...the only proper way to do this conversion requires quite a bit of body work, especially the front end. Carl Nelson has done many conversions to date and I keep him in high regard.
That said, my car is quite un-original and I live a long way from LaJolla, so I get by on my own until I need help via all the outstanding members of this forum as well as the pro's in SoCal. I documented the bumper swap poorly and for that I apologize.
One can see the progression easily, from PVC mockup to the end result as well as the securement of the bumper. My only trade secret is how I source pipe the exact O.D. as the original shock (hint...Home Depot)
