Billion $ Tesla competitor

Interesting info. A friend bought an I3 and my 84 year old Dad just bought a Tesla 70D. Both seem to like their cars…..and subsidies.

My main hesitation on electric vehicles is that I think they will turn us into passengers. When you look at the way traffic is controlled in metropolitan areas now (I cannot make an uncontrolled left turn during my 17 mile, 50 minute commute into DC), and the growth of automotive systems that brake, steer and otherwise take the human out of the equation, I think these new vehicles won't be cars. They will be private seating areas in a large bus system.

Totally agree. I just don't see these self driving cars working well with distracted drivers. I could see taking up snow ball throwing again at a late age as a hobby.

Say, now there is an idea. Add in a GoPro and we could have contests to see who gets the best reaction from a previously distracted driver!

Believe it when I see it!

Tough enough to design and build any new car.

Look at Tesla--three years after launch there are still no other options for an electric vehicle that exceeds 200 miles per charge.

How has yours worked out Scott? I ran into a guy at Copper mountain the other day who had an 85S. Said he wanted to buy a second one to use in the winter with AWD and keep the one he had. Seemed odd to me, why not just use the AWD one all year? I guess he loved the car so much he wanted more of them.
