Can anybody help me identify this type of Bilstein shock? HD?

These were install during 1995 by the PO and seem to be in very good condition but I would like to install CN springs next week and I want to be sure that these could be properly used with them.

TIA

ID number is stamped on the top of your inverted shocks

Those look like Dinan blue springs.

Don, I appreciate your responses with the add comment about the type of springs that are on my car. I know the PO had replaced them at the same time of replacing the shocks and struts but I had no idea what type they were.

Thanks again for helping me solve another PO mystery upgrade.

Bernie,
Will you be installing the springs yourself or letting a shop do it ? Let us know how it turned out as far as driving feel and stance as far as you see it.

EJ, I am going to have a local alignment shop do the front end swap out. They quoted me $300 and a little extra for the tweaking of the alignment.

My only goal in doing this was to change the front end stance by dropping it 1 to 1 1/2 inches. The overall feel of my car right now seems to be very stable and it stays flat during hard cornering. Now that Don told me that the spring were possibly Dinan springs I am going to leave the back how they are.

My concern with dropping the front to much is that the PO had installed Volvo fender liners when he did all the suspension work and installation of camber plates. I now am hoping with the CN springs installed up front the tires don't rub on those liners.

My center of wheel to top of the wheel arch are currently as follows:

Front: 15"
Rear: 13.5"

I will post an update when I get this done.

I am happy to report the shop got the spring swap and front end alignment done today. As of right now the front dropped only about 1/2 inch (14 1/2") and also reported that all of the other front end suspension components are in good working condition.

Cost was $320 for the spring swap and $55 for the alignment.

Overall the car handles almost the same as with the prior Dinan springs but the stance has improved some.
