Wondering if the difference is worth the extra $ for the HDs? Did a search but couldn't find anything: sorry if this is repetitive. Just doing shocks front and rear for now, keeping orig. springs. Thanks for the help.

My understanding is they are both valved identically. Sport has a shorter stroke as it is designed for lowering spring applications.

If using stock springs HD would be the apparent choice.

Firmer springs, bigger bars and compliant struts and shocks is the way to go on our flexible flyers... and don't over do it on the wheels.

Go for the HDs, money well spent.

This is my set up and I'm very pleased with it.
Bilstien HDs all around, front sport springs lower front 7/16ths rear are stock, anti-sway bars F-28mm, R- 22mm. Anti-sway bars are from Carl Nelson's shop.

+1 on HDs...

If you can find a used set you can have them rebuilt/re-valved by Bilstein with a customized setup (a little more compliant on the compression).

I thought "Sports" we're firmer than HD's and most folks here have opted for the softer riding HD's?

Has something changed with the way Bilstein offer these?

I've always believed that the HD's were "softer" than Sports but others claim they're just different lengths with the same valving?
