black or chrome, hood and fender grills

Can someone tell me the correct finish, black or chrome, for the hood and fender grills for a Polaris 1972? I assume a 72 in Polaris would have the ‘blackout’ tape under the fender grill
How about the windshield wipers?
I have found photos with every combination

my 72 Polaris came with chrome hood and fender grills, with blackout under the fender grills. Many color/trim combos over the years, some have said that after a point in 73 all had black but my 73 had silver so I guess whatever was in the parts bin, also I am sure many have been changed over the years.

Anyone have perfect chrome they'd like to trade for perfect black?? All four pieces.

Got what I want, now have both black fender grilles available. Maybe hood ones, but they are tentatively spoken for.

Remember, the new "chrome" ones are shiny throughout the entire piece while the original pieces have an overall matte finish with shiny edges.

I am in need of one original passenger (right) fender grill if anyone has one.

I have a pair of black ones that are perfect on the 'appearance' side. Some issues with the 'pegs' that go into holes in the fenders. PM me for information.

Hood grilles are tentatively 'on hold' for a Forum member.
