Last month I ventured into mid-France and enjoyed Le Mans Classic.

This was my third time at the Classic. This year I took the CSL which performed faultlessly during over 800 miles of fast cruising 80+mph and surprising 911s and Alpines on France’s typical tree lined flowing country roads. Is 22mpg good/average/poor?

I have attached a link showing some of the BMWs over the weekend. It was fantastic to see M1s dicing with 512BBLM, 935, Lola, Matra etc. and CSLs racing alongside Capri, 911 RSR, 240Z etc.

Enjoy. I did

Looks like you had a teriffic time! Very interesting is the Calder car look alike..what a beauty. Did you get to drive the Circuit de la Sarth? 22mpg sounds pretty good to me.

IS that a Calder look-alike? Or the real one? MT does some wild things with their iron lately I hear

Great stuff indeed

I'm always a little surprised how high the Calder car sits, compared to more modern racing iron. But this was in the early days....

The Calder car was for years my desktop background, and I'll probably bring it back.

Question, though, whose is the black/white CS? I hadn't seen that one before, not that I claim to any comprehensive knowledge.

Look-Alike, the real Calder had GR4 flares and the wheels and tires are considerable larger.
