BMW badge ?

Hi guys,

Just picked up this BMW related badge. Not really a car part but I was wondering if anybody is familiar with this type of badge. What was it for and which era can it be attributed to.

Hi Chris,

Yep a hint I received from somebody else as well today. Apparently the early style with serifs in combination with the outer silver circle dates this between 1936 and 1945.

Believe it or not but this was brought back from the US by a friend visiting a military show.

Today I mailed the BMW museum and if I get a reply I make sure to share the info.

Not really E9 related but a nice BMW artefact.
