Hello to all,

Just wanted to inform you about the release of the "BMW CS Chronik". All my apologies if you already knew....
His author is Thomas MUELLER.
His address : "EDITION-WEISS-BLAU" Krumdal 12, HAMBURG / GERMANY.

Thomas has been publishing books on BMW for years, sometimes with total disapproval of the company. Each book is published always in small quantity, and most of the time - numbered.

His site:
http://www.edition-weiss-blau.de/

The book is 209 pages, leather covered, dimensions 37 x 27 x 4,5 cms, the paper used is of the best quality.
One drawback-may be- text is german (Maybe an english version sometime ?), but very little ...................and pix are every where.
You can have your name or personal VIN goldmarked .
The book is 80 % dedicated to the E9.

It is a must for all E9 lover.
I can not resist to share following pix with you !

Of course, some pix has already been seen here or elsewhere on some E9 sites, but Thomas found out some rarities.

It remains one of the rare books, dedicated to the model. For me, top of the heap.

rgds.

This is a great suggestion. I would readily pay for this kind of book if it were translated into English. Example, Urs Schmidt (German) wrote a superb book on the XK120, and both the DE & English versipns are just about sold out. Clearly if the car is special enough & the book is good enough, there's plenty of demand for a high-end model specific book. BTW, @ over $200 a copy, "Anatomy of a Cult Object" ain't cheap, yet Jag owners still consider it a good value.

Very Nice! Thanks for the tip Chris. The price of 400 Euros is pretty steep though. Great factory production photos. This is so much better than the BMW issued Prolfile series on the CS (green hardbound book).

B/W

Are most of the pictures in black and white?
Are there "enough" factory pictures, or are most of sales material related pictures?
Any facts to dig into? and I don´t mean size and hp but like how many early CSLs went to Italy (I know it was the majority (thanks Henric)).

Says the price is high because they estimate the population to be only 30 to 40 collectors...

I did not count how many color and B/W photos there was, but it is well balanced in the book
Not really many precise infos on production, except the famous table taken from BMW intern "Production since 1948".
Concerning most secret datas, you'll have to break the factory safe ..
Pix of production line can be seen on posted links yesterday.
As they are not so many (4 or 5), I think they are all there.
But there are some photos, from advert or model presentation from BMW archive, I had never seen.
