At the NY Auto Show in 1966, a model wearing a "Miss BMW" sash was mauled by a lion. Picture on Wikipedia shows her petting the lion with a 2000CS in the background. Later she appeared with the lion at a photo shoot and things went awry. Wikipedia or Google "Nell Theobald." Other pictures taken by photographer Neal Boenzi are gruesome; she survived, sued everybody including Max Hoffman, but apparently was unhinged afterwards.

Right, Arde, shame on them. But it was 1966 and like the wives in divorce cases she moved into poverty and the husband bought a Porsche. Fact. I have seen the photos. Who wouldn't be unhinged. Sad sad.

Ok, first question is if Ludwig the Lion was put to sleep or not?
Second, I am glad Lancia uses the Elefantino as the animal in its badging. I think models and elephants mix better at car shows than lions.
Third, poor divorcees have brothers that know where the Porsche is parked.
