BMW Skillet Restoration

Looks curious, but…

found that the Björneborgs Mekaniska Werkstad pans were Made in Finland around the turn of the century.

B M W

how would you know…
This is an original BMW frying pan.

The company you mentioned placed its logo on the handle of the frying pan.

written by V - Verkstad

According to this Finnish article, BMW on these pans (BMW on the handle) is short for Björneborgs Mekaniska Werkstad.

W was commonly used instead of V, in Swedish named companies a century ago.
For example our local (swedish-speaking) newspaper was Wasabladet before, now called Vasabladet.

I think the official name of the company was written with a V, but the letter W appears on products and promotional materials.
I think it was used interchangeably.

The Finnish BMW/BMV also produced engines.
