Water in one of my E92 headlights, replaced all the parts but I cannot reset the FRM (FRM short circuit code 9CBB) with my Schwaban and until I do, no front left headlight. Of course the car is due for inspection this month!

I found Tool 32 which allows reset but only up to E90 (newer version has to be bought from BimmerGeeks) and also not sure how to use it anyway. I'm gonna try to get it done on my own but if unsuccessful, is there anyone within driving distance (just west of Boston, 02493) willing to rest this thing for me? These cars are just way over-engineered and a PIA.

If you install the Ediabas/INPA version available through e.g. E46 Fanatics or Rheingold, this should allow you to reset? Or is this really solely a Tool32 function (Tool32 also comes with the INPA package)?
Edit: OK, I see - actually a ToolSet32 task. But as mentioned, this comes with installing the INPA or ISTA package and seems to be straightforward once you identified the faulty lamp. If you got INPA and a DCAN cable you can also have it done remotely via Teamviewer or similar by someone experienced.

Erik, if you ever want to wrench on a BMW after the E36/E34/E32 series you need to gain some exerperience with OBD tools (and even for these series you need some INPA skills for proper - or at least easy - diagnosis).
But agree, how pure are our E9ers...

And BTW it is also fun :)
I built myself a bench-flash device to optimize the grandpa mode auto tranny 5HP19 with Alpina and Z4 software:

I also got a benchflash device for the DME and you can customize/optimize a lot, e.g. Vanos parameters, deactivate driver's wish correction and similar. Of course, these are all topics that do not play a role for the E9 but they are nice challanges in youngtimer BMWs. Different models, different challanges :)
