Awhile back this post appeared in the Parts for Sale forum from @bmwmadman :
I got in touch with Gary, and he was a really wonderful individual to work with. He kept the item in his garage for about two months before I was able to drive from Los Angeles down to the San Diego area and pick it up.
It seems like Gary and I run in similar circles. It was really cool to meet you in person (wish I had more time today.. but I had to get my boys to basketball practice), and I hope to see you again at San Clemente Cars & Coffee, SoCal Vintage BMW (Woodley Park) and at Laguna Seca Historics 2026...
I look forward to repairing this E9 air dam, and making a variant of it for my E3.

Appreciate the comments - I want to clarify this is NOT a genuine Alpina part. I have no idea when or what company produced it. When I bought it from Coupeking - he said it was for an E9. Here are the pictures taken today for fitment on my E9.
